I have been told that I have been slacking on the blog (ahemmmm..... mom) so I am making it a New Year's resolution to update at least every other day. For the next couple days I am going to try to do a couple a day to catch up. I have had things to blog about and have the pictures and videos, just not the time.
First I will start with Melvin. Melvin is an elf in training. He arrives on the 1st of December and watches over the kids everyday and goes back to the North Pole at night to report to Santa. Since Santa is so busy during December getting all the toys ready, he needs extra eyes and ears to watch all the kids. I was really hoping this would keep Riley "good", but no such luck there.... she didn't really care and actually went and told him a couple times that she was bad..... haha... at least she's honest right? :)
One day Riley was super good so Melvin came back from the North Pole with a couple gifts for her and Reagan. I was hoping that he would be able to give her a few more (because Santa had some extras), but again no such luck with that :)
One thing Riley really enjoyed about Melvin was finding him every morning.... if you don't know, elfs are very mischievous and get into a lot of trouble sometimes. We woke up to Melvin being in the tree, hanging from the chandelier, in the pantry with the food, swinging from the refrigerator, and so many other crazy places.
Hopefully next year when Melvin comes back he will be able to give Santa good reports.... but somehow, even though Santa got bad reports all month, Riley was still overloaded with gifts at Christmas!

Haha! I love that! I just heard about the "Elf on the Shelf" thing this year, and really want to do that with my kids this years.
