I have been trying to decide whether to put Riley in dance or gymnastics. She loves to tumble around the house, jump off things, try to do cartwheels, but then she also LOVES to dance and loves music ( and I'm afraid she takes after her dad so unfortunately she might benefit from and really need the dance lessons!). Well, we went to a birthday party today at The Little Gym. Riley was so excited and took off inside without me and started jumping on all the stuff and playing (this is very rare for her to do). Her favorite was the balance beam and by the end of the party she was walking across it alone and when she would get to the end she would line up her feet so carefully and pretty much do a real dismount. It was so cute and I was so impressed. So I think today made the decision for me... we have an Olympic gymnast on our hands and who am I to hold her back :)
And then there was little Reagan! She is a nut and everyone was so impressed at how well she did and how she kept up with the big kids. If Riley was going to walk that balance beam alone then so was Reagan... she was funny.
One thing I was truly amazed at was how no one really showed the kids how to do things, but they still knew how to do it. In one of these pictures Riley is climbing across some bars. One of the teachers did it once in a very quick run through explanation and somehow Riley got on and knew what to do. Yes, I know the kid in front of her is doing it, but I really thought I was going to have to show her how to put her feet and how to crawl like that, but no... she was a pro!
