Jason worked again New Year's Eve... 4th year in a row now that I was home alone. I have come to not really care much about New Year's Eve... I don't watch any of the things they have on tv, I watch a movie. I don't normally stay up because in the past 4 years I either was pregnant or had a small baby that was still waking up at night and getting up early in the morning. So this year I decided that I would try to make New Year's Eve "special"... more special for the kids so they would have a tradition that we do every year. I thought last year we were starting something when we got together with the Nelsons and shot off fireworks (sparklers), but Jason went into work earlier in the day this year, the Nelsons weren't home, and I wasn't going to go out in the cold by myself with 3 kids and play with fire sooooooo...... our new tradition is ice cream sundaes for dinner!
Riley was of course excited about this and Jonathan ended up coming over for dinner to join us. We went to the store and I let Riley pick out her ice cream, sprinkles, sauces, and whatever she wanted. Then she got to make her ice cream... I think that was the highlight for her.
Of course once we sat down and started eating Riley took a bite and said she didn't like it... not a big surprise, but she ate it all anyway so it must not have been too bad. I tried to get a good picture of these kids, but they couldn't stop eating long enough to look at the camera. I think it was a big hit and I'm sure Riley will bug me all year to have ice cream for dinner now until next New Year's Eve.
Jonathan is the only naked baby here and he really is the neatest eater out of the all..... but he came over in only his pj's and I didn't want him to drop any ice cream on himself and not have anything else to put on. Both of my girls spilt ice cream, but we changed right after so it was ok.
