Blue Angels

Jonathan's dad was so generous and gave me and the girls VIP passes to see The Blue Angels. I don't know if Riley really knew what an airshow was, but she was so excited to go and see the planes. We went with Haley and Jonathan and had a really good time. Jon was out on a boat because he was partially "in charge" and Jason was also working, but it was nice because he was also "in charge" of the area where we were.

So I thought that the VIPs were going to be the Blue Angel's family and some big wigs from the base, but to my surprise there were some really important people there. Haley and I were too scared to go talk to them and I am not going to win photographer of the year anytime soon. I couldn't get a good picture to save my life. But here is what I got.... If you squint you can see the man in the blue ball cap, that's John McCain and the man to his right is Lindsey Graham! I did actually stand next to them for awhile until they went upstairs to watch the show, but I felt like a nerd taking their picture while being right next to them... haha.

The pilots were super sweet! The Blue Angel in this picture was CJ and he did all the commentary and the guy in the flight suit is Jon's boss. There was another pilot there, Amy, and Riley just LOVED her. She wanted the "pilot girl" to write something on her sticker (our pass into the VIP section). So we got both autographs, but no picture of Amy because Riley was pouting because I wouldn't let "pilot girl" write on her shirt... geez! Last night she told Jason that when she gets older she is going to wear a dress and a hat and fly the plane with pilot girl :)

Again, not winning any photo contest here! The planes flying around and the one with just the white... it was the smoke from the planes and Riley thought they made a rainbow.
